Description
Part of the mandate of the Canadian Jewellers Association is to foster a healthy and growing support network for the industry. In part, this means ensuring the availability of qualified personnel. To further that goal, several educational programs have been created. In particular, the CJA is very proud of the Jewellery Education Training System (JETS), and the Accredited Appraiser Program. Both are comprehensive and methodical approaches to providing complete understanding of these complex aspects of the jewellery industry. In the future, the CJA hopes to work closely with community colleges to create an apprentice program for artisans, jewellery and watch manufacturers, and possibly even a retail/business management program. JETS Course Available The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) is proud to offer you the new JETS JEWELLERY EDUCATIONAL TRAINING SYSTEM ® program specifically designed for the jewellery industry. JETS is an intensive program presented in 15 modules and developed by industry specialists. Completion of this comprehensive course of study will award the participant with their CJA-GJ designation. JETS Incentive - Jewelers Mutual CJA is excited to announce that, through our partnership with Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, we are able to offer a chance to win a $2,000 Travel Voucher to anyone who signs up for the CJA Jewellery Education Training System (JETS). Accredited Appraiser Program (AAP) The AAP is a certification process comprised of a number of levels. All of the AAP members are required to uphold the CJA-AAP Code of Ethics & Standards and abide by the current Jewellery Appraisal Guidelines- Minimum Acceptable Standards. The guidelines provide the minimum standards acceptable in the appraisal services industry. We encourage you to click on the highlighted Accredited Appraiser Program (AAP) heading up above, and explore the many components of this very important program. Please note, CJA ’s AAP has been enhanced, and a new program was launched on January 1, 2009.
