Marlae has a degree in Multidisciplinary Social Sciences and a Human Services Certificate with an area of specialization in Child & Family Development. Her interest in world cultures and passion for community development have equipped her with over 6 years of experience in offering support to children and families in diverse cultural settings, including overseas. Marlae loves backpacking excursions, creating culinary concoctions, and genuine Indian chai with lots of cardamom!.
Jesslyn Pyne has been on the board for over 4 yrs, and born and raised in Richmond. She has 2 busy boys who have grown up through the Richmond Family Place programs. Her boys are now in elementary school. Jesslyn has been attending programs for over 10 years and continues to attend programs with the children she cares for. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors spending time with friends and family. Jesslyn believes so strongly in the work that is done throughout Richmond Family place with it’s a fabulous program.
Kim has worked in the non-profit sector in the Lower Mainland for over 20 years, and has been in her current role with Richmond Family Place for the past 8 years. She holds an undergraduate degree in criminology from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. Most recently in 2011 Kim completed her certificate in Public Policy from the United Way Public Policy Institute and is currently enrolled in a graduate level course on leadership with the University of Portland. Kim is active on many social issues impacting families and co-chairs the Richmond Children First Committee raising awareness on the importance of the early years. Kim is married with a 9 year old son and 12 year old yellow lab – the loves of her life.
Victoria has been a Richmond resident for over 20 years. She is a CFA charter holder and is an Equity Research Associate at PI Financial Corp. Victoria has a strong passion to work with children and young families and enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
A licensed Early Childhood Educator with over 18 years of experience, Hydi enjoys working with Lower Mainland families and children from 0 to 12 years old. She is proud of her own two children, Ricky and Winnie. Named after Disney characters, they have most certainly grown up to be magical gems. Hydi loves and treasures her job as everyday is a new adventure. Not only can she meet new people, but learn new skills as well. Hydi believes in the importance of ensuring that children, leaders of the future, can reach their full potentials. As Senior Family Support Worker here at Richmond Family Place, she makes it her priority to help fully develop this potential early on in our children's lives.
