Looking for extra hours, weekend work or shift work? Nightingale offers flexible hours and pays weekly. As an elect-to-work employee, you have the option of accepting or declining any work offered to you. There are friendly, helpful office staff to assist you. We provide service to clients in private homes, hospitals and institutional settings. We provide babysitting services to children of all ages in private homes, at the IWK children’s hospital and at hotels throughout metro. All applicants must have current CPR and First Aid certificates, and a police dossier is required.

Nightingale Nursing Services (NNS) was established in 1986 as a privately owned and operated home care agency. A diverse clientele has been served and continues to evolve over the years with the expanding reliance on the home care sector. NNS recognizes the importance of home care and the increasing need for the services provided. We are able to assess current and future training and professional development opportunities. NNS has served clients with minor health problems to acutely ill clients requiring more advanced and intensive treatment.

We provide services in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes. Service levels include Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), personal care workers, home support workers, homemakers and hospital sitters. All staff are required to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to attain and maintain competency as the demands of their position evolves.

To provide direct client care that enables individuals with health and / or functional deficits to remain at home in a safe and acceptable environment. To promote good health, provide comprehensive needs assessments and provide care and treatment of health conditions in a cost effective manner. To identify immediate and long term needs of the client and caregiver. To provide those services necessary to attain or maintain optimal function. Nightingale Nursing Services is organized to serve individuals in need.

The Main office of Nightingale Nursing Services is located in Dartmouth, NS. This office has operated since 1986 and provides service to Metro and the surrounding areas. Please call one of our friendly office staff to address any concerns you may have regarding home care.
