Description
The HUB Program provides direct support for families and their children living in the Grandview-Woodlands, Downtown Eastside and Strathcona neighbourhoods of Vancouver. We provide these outreach services to families in English and Chinese. Families often require extensive support regarding housing issues, health services and access to early childhood development programs. The program also works with residents and community agencies to address gaps in services for families and children, working with a number of partners to implement solutions.
VRB can offer a short term funding source that is available to families and individuals that live in the City of Vancouver , at risk of eviction or essential utility disconnection due to a temporary shortage funds. As well we can provide a security deposit if current housing is deemed unsafe or unsustainable. Furthermore we provide low income individuals with the tools to better manage their limited financial resources.
NICCSS is a consortium of community based organizations, resident groups and consumer groups who work together in the coordination and delivery of services to children and families and individuals. These programs are all focused Vancouver's Inner City population, addressing gaps in existing social services for residents in these neighbourhoods. The range of services that we provide includes early childhood development, youth and family support, seniors' support and social enterprise projects. Our programs frequently involve a number of community organizations working collaboratively together to address issues affecting our community on many levels.
NICCSS embraces diversity in all of our programs and accordingly has arranged to provide services in several languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, French and English.
NICCSS offers home support services for families involved with the Ministry of Child and Family Development and the Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society. Through this program we offer training, support and flexible work to residents while ensuring that children and families are provided with the quality care and support that they need. We provide employment primarily for the residents of the Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and Grandview-Woodlands neighbourhoods of Vancouver.
