A study in the Journal of Counselling Psychology, 2002, identified emotional abuse and/or emotional neglect as the experience in childhood most likely to lead to an eating disorder or sub-clinical disordered eating. The experience of emotional abuse or neglect forces us to find ways to cope with the pain of our unmet need for love and belongingness. It is just too painful for us to be conscious of our need for love and not have any effective way of getting that need met.

Stemming from my personal recovery, 20+ years ago, from binge eating, trauma and anxiety, and enhanced by more than 20 years of professional experience helping men and women worldwide to find peace and confidence with their relationship with food and weight, alcohol, career and their relationships with other people, I’ve created a range of services and self-help options to meet the needs of every budget and time constraint you might have – in other words – there’s no excuse.
