Description
When Parasun approached Advantage about investment, a process lead by Barry Carlson, Barry was looking for more than just investment. He was looking for an investor who would be aligned with achieving an exit within a period of three to four years and, more importantly, one who had considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions and would take an active lead in the process. David Raffa has had considerable experience in leading M&A deals and had recently lead the successful sale of ActiveState Corp. to Sophos PLC as Chairman of ActiveState.
David and Basil worked together with Steven to bring the business plan current, prepare the presentation materials, build the due diligence package, prepare the valuation analysis and prep the company for presentation. They built the funnel of prospective buyers, organized the presentations, conducted the negotiations and over-saw the legal and accounting advisors from documentation to close. Steven and his team presented the company and the business opportunity to the potential suitors, spread the vision and answered all of the operational due diligence questions.
Ambrose Hong has over 15 years of senior financial management and executive experience in organizations of varying sizes and in various industries including investment fund management, manufacturing, technology, and land development. Ambrose has extensive experience in accounting and finance functions, strategic transactions and compliance management.
"The Advantage guys do what many VCs only claim to do - provide value add. In our case, they were extremely active and we couldn't have asked for better Board members. They took on the task of selling our company and, working hand in hand with managment and the rest of our Board, they were instrumental in achieving a very, very successful exit for all of the stakeholders.
If your company does not meet the requirements of the SBVCA and its associated Regulations , we cannot invest no matter how interesting your opportunity is. If your company does meet the requirements, then we suggest you have a look at our investment criteria for the kind of ESBs we are looking for to see if you are a fit. To assist entrepreneurs with determining how likely it is that we will invest, and how best to approach us, we have set out in detail our investment philosophy, methodology and criteria on our Entrepreneurs FAQ page.
