ZAS Architects is a dynamic, full service architectural + urbanism design firm that began in Toronto twenty years ago with an interest in developing high quality design, supported by service excellence. Since that time ZAS has evolved into a practice of fifty professionals, combining the creative spirit of the Principals with the delivery and reliability of a significant design firm. The firm’s work includes projects on several continents, ranging from projects such as mixed-use developments, resorts, hotels, condominium towers, to athletic complexes and large educational campuses.

The Toronto-based firm has been responsible for numerous award-winning projects and urban planning solutions across Canada, Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Waterfront projects such as The Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts/Bobby Orr Hall of Fame in Parry Sound, recipient of the 2005 OAA Award of Excellence, is an example of design excellence on a waterfront site.

Other recent work has included the Wellesley Community Centre and McGregor Park Public Library, both of which received Honorable Mentions in the City of Toronto’s Architecture and Urban Design Awards program in 2005. With 27 design awards to its credit, the firm is notable for working at the frontier of design innovation supported by the technical expertise to produce high quality building designs. Our firm has long been a proponent and practitioner of sustainable planning and design, implementing an integrated design process to achieve results that are sustainable, beautiful and affordable.
