Ken, a third generation painter from Saskatchewan, has been with the company nearly 8 years and is one the company’s most experienced painters. With over 40 years experience in the industry, this flat-lander can do anything from wood refinishing to industrial painting. He remains best known for his role as foreman on the GM Place/Rogers Arena project.

We have started off another summer season strong. We recently completed an exterior multi-residential job in Port Coquitlam that we have been working on since 2011. This was a multi-phase project which many strata councils prefer as it allows them to spread out the cost of a larger project and lessen the effect on their annual budget. Our clients are able to request multi-phase projects since Vanguard Painting is such an established business, being around for over 15 years. Our customers know that we will always return to finish the projects we start with no subcontracting .

This was a challenging job of 2013 with so many different colours. This was a building that has not been painted for over 20 years and it was time for change. Stucco and two subtle colours, balcony walls were used as accent colours against the wood siding that was a different shade. The tenants were very excited as they started to see the new look and when the two buildings were completed they felt like they moved and were now living in a new apartment complex.

We are also an affiliated business with the Better Business Bureau and we were a 2012 Torch Award Finalist for marketplace excellence in ethical business and marketing practices.

Wood staining and finishing covers a ton of different products and application methods, many of which are considered in the industry as being some of the most difficult applications to master. We have several seasoned painters on staff that have decades of experience in matching stains, finishes, and application methods.
