Tap Communications is approaching its 20th year as an independent, Saskatchewan-owned and operated advertising agency. Tap is now under the leadership of Tap's senior vice-president, Michelle Nelson and her team. That's a good thing. Tap's founder, Ray Penner, is still very much involved with the agency as a strategic advisor, copywriter, and business developer. That's also a good thing. As a small agency of ten people, we rely on efficiencies and teamwork to enhance our reputation for exceeding objectives while staying on budget and on schedule. We also are fortunate to have skilled people in all of our positions, which cover all aspects within the definition of a full-service advertising agency. You might actually enjoy reading our bios as much as we do. Ray spends a good part of his day explaining that he is not retired "“ although he is quite happy to see leadership succession taking place at Tap. This gives him more time for his first love, writing, and putting his 28 years of experience to work for major projects. Ray has served on numerous boards including the Saskatchewan Economic Developers Association, Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation, and Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. He is past-president of the Saskatoon Club, Saskatoon Usadians Association, University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association, and former member of the U of S senate. He currently serves on the executive of the Saskatoon Downtown Partnership business improvement district, and as campaign director for Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation. He also guides new business development for Tap. But some days he'd rather be playing his accordion.
