Samuel Comly In 1871, with the death of Mr. Russell, Mr. Ward was elected president of Russell, Burdsall & Ward. In 1882, Mr. Ward, his son William L. Ward and Samuel Comly started the Port Chester Bolt and Nut Company in Port Chester, New York. Mr. Ward was now president of both companies. In 1889, Mr. Burdsall died and Mr. Ward’s health began to fail. He turned over the mechanical department to Ellwood Burdsall, Jr., who carried on the Ward tradition. Mr. Ward died March 2,1900 at the age of 78.
