Description

Reanne Heuston began animal training before even her parents can remember. Research projects, spare time and even her vacations had to involve animals. If she wasn't reading or writing about them she was working with them. She joined 4-H Canada in 1993 to actively show and compete with horses and rabbits: attending clinics, seminars and classes on pets and pet care for the next six years. After moving to Nelson B.C. in 1999, Reanne became extremely active in animal training; dogs, horses, cats, rabbits and even ducks! She also worked at a local veterinary clinic and attended dog obedience classes with her Pyrenese/Kuvasz X. Her next puppy, also a Pyrenese X, became too advanced for intermediate classes so Reanne started training her own dogs. Seventeen puppies and dogs was not a surprise at the Heuston Farm when she volunteered as a foster parent for the SPCA! Reanne was providing advice for dog, horse and cat owners; consequently she attended a business program to begin her career in animal training and behavior. Instruction at the Missouri Tom Rose School (a school for dog trainers) in the fall of 2002 enhanced Reanne's experience and knowledge with dogs.
