Dr Nancy Love has worked with government agencies and officials in Canada, the U.S. and Africa, giving them tools to resolve conflict through conversation. Her specialties include conflict resolution, leadership development, and change management. Nancy is a former high school principal and has taught at all levels – Kindergarten through Masters Programs – and has never stopped teaching. Nancy believes that coaches, like teachers and mediators, are difference makers and she is proud to work with the ICF to promote the profession of coaching.

When interviewing, ensure interview locations are accessible and prepare in advance to provide special support. Ask questions that are job related. It is wise to take a page from a mediator’s playbook and ask the same questions of each interviewee, maintaining impartiality and focusing on specific job-related skills. DO ask “Part of this job requires lifting and moving 25 pound boxes around the warehouse. Are you comfortable doing this?” or “This job requires taking minutes at meetings.

We provide learning exchanges , through face-to-face workshops and online training for you to gain the confidence and courage you need to master your social exchanges and redefine how you are in the world.

And as for me, I have changed too. Older can be wiser. It can also be more experienced. Sometimes I do feel that I am repeating lessons from the past. Life is like that. If you don’t learn the lesson then you get to have the experience again. For some reason we don’t see it coming. The route is familiar so we continue until … bang … there it is the same old road block we hit once before. If we are lucky we find the way around over or under, around or through this road block with resignation that the journey is ours to travel and no road block can stop us.
