The PEI Mutual Education Trust was founded in 1985 , PEI Mutual's centennial year. At that time, a donation of $100,000 was given to the Trust by PEI Mutual, with additional donations totaling $82,000 being given over the next twenty-five years. In 2010, PEI Mutual celebrated 125 years of being in business. As part of this celebration our Board of Directors approved a special donation of $125,000 to the PEI Mutual Education Trust Fund, which enabled us to significantly increase the scholarship amount given to each recipient.

PEI Mutual Educational Trust we provide twenty scholarships annually to Island students. Terry Shea, our General Manager, maintains our investment portfolio, investing locally whenever prudent.
