Since joining Lumira and its preceding company MDS Capital in 1997, Dr. Underdown has focused on investments in North American therapeutics companies at all stages of development. With over 15 years of investment and operational experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, he has been a key player in the growth of over 10 life science companies in Canada and the US.

Lorus currently has several products in various stages of development, from discovery to an advanced Phase II clinical program, which provide a succession of licencing and commercialization opportunities in the near and long term. We develop our product candidates with a focus on target-based cancer therapeutics that have excellent safety profiles and high therapeutic index. Our goal is to generate safe and efficacious drugs that have novel yet biologically sound mechanisms of action.

Dr. Wright is currently the CEO of NuQuest Bio Inc. Dr. Wright serves as a member of Lorus’ Board of directors since 1999, and has served as the company’s President (1999-2006), CEO (2001 – 2006), And Chief Scientfic Officer (1999 – 2001). He was co-founder of GeneSense Technologies Inc having served as the President, CSO and at various times as Chairman of the Board, and Corporate Secretary, from 1996 through 1999 before merging with Lorus. Lorus Therapeutics Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, research and development of novel, first-in-class anticancer therapies with high safety profiles.
