Langley Lodge is proud to employ 24 hour qualified nursing professionals (Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses) to provide the essential clinical care to the residents, as well as leadership and guidance to the members of the Interdisciplinary Care Team. We employ Resident Care Aides who have graduated from a recognized college of training and who are registered with the "BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry". Our competent compassionate nurses and care aides collaborate with members of the Interdisciplinary Team and together they provide person centered, safe and best quality care. Our common goal is achieving the best possible quality of life for the residents who suffer from multiple chronic illnesses requiring Complex Care. Physiotherapy Langley Lodge has a Physiotherapist and a Rehabilitation Assistant on staff. The aim of the Physiotherapy Department is to assist the resident in achieving his/her full potential in mobility and functional skills and maintaining independence and quality of life. Therapeutic Recreation Services offered intend to provide purposeful, meaningful activity in the form of recreation and leisure pursuits of interest to our residents. These programs are provided by specialists such as Activity Workers, Chaplain, Music Therapist (Accredited), and Horticultural Therapist (Certified). We seek to meet individual needs through one to one and group interaction "“ building community and enhancing quality of life through quality programming. Dietary Services The goal of the dietary department is to serve nutritious, tasty and attractive food to residents in a pleasant and satisfying manner. Dietary services are supervised by a Registered Dietitian and Food Services Supervisor. Food preparation and service is provided by experienced, professionally trained Cooks as well as Foodsafe-certified Dietary Aides. We have a five-week rotating menu and additional nourishments in the afternoon and evening. Visitors are welcome to join their resident family member for meals or tea breaks for a nominal cost. More detailed information is available in the Resident Handbook. Social Services Resident and family services are the heart of the Langley Lodge family. The Manager of Social Work provides support and assessment services to the residents upon admission and through out the year. The Social Worker coordinates all resident admissions and discharges and can provide information regarding community resources. The role of the Social Worker is to focus on the emotional and financial issues or concerns of the resident and support them while they are settling into Langley Lodge. The Manager of Social Work is also available for family members as they adjust to having their family member live in residential care. Medical Services Medical Services are organized under the direction of a part-time Medical Co-ordinator who provides a liaison between the Lodge and medical staff. Direct medical care and supervision is provided by the resident's personal physician and/or consultant on referral. Pharmacy Services Langley Lodge Pharmacy services are provided by London Drugs.
