Emtek is dedicated to bringing interesting, well made hardware back into American homes. Until about 1930 there was a proud history of hardware in America. Hundreds of small factories made an enormous variety of creatively designed products. Craftsmen from many disciplines devoted their energies to making locks that provided both function and beauty. Unfortunately, during the depression many of these factories failed, and then during WWII brass became scarce and lock designs were reduced to the bare essentials. In more recent years the emphasis on cheap, high volume building products has discouraged manufacturers from re-introducing well made hardware. But now these ideas are changing, Americans are re-discovering the satisfaction that comes from owning well designed products. Emtek's mission is to make it possible for home owners to apply these higher expectations to door locks. We are striving to provide a broad, interesting range of products that consumers can use as elements of decor, not just as a way to latch a door.

Didieffe's strong identity, rooted as it is in our products and market, has been achieved thanks to our constant and relentless activity first on local level and then across the borders. This is the result of a consistent commitment to develop our mission which is to carry on the production of fittings for door and window frames as well as for wood furniture traditionally associated to handicraft. These manufactured products were originally associated to pre-Alpine-styled houses, a house style characterizing the area around Belluno but that can also be found in many other areas with a similar environmental context. Over the last twenty years or so Didieffe has been able to enhance the age-old heritage of the days when the locksmith was working side by side with the carpenter to manufacture products which were a perfect combination of metal working and wood craft.

SALICE PAOLO has always worked in the field of brass, at the beginning in the production of furniture articles and, in the last twenty years, of door handles. In the course of this evolution we haven't lost our spirit: in fact today the artisan manufactures go together with High-Technological-Production-System, in order to get the best, taking care of finishes, design and functionality. The quality of our items doesn't go to the detriment of the environment: our production structure is provided with modern water-and air depuration system and we use only components, which don't damage our world.
