Island Communications Ltd is a Nanaimo company from its inception 35 years ago. When the company was formed, it also involved the amalgamation of several smaller electronics businesses giving us an 80-year heritage in the communications industry. The company and its founder have many milestones to their credit, including work on the worlds largest cablevision head end during the massive cable growth in the 70’s, critical design work on the worlds most reliable LORAN-C chain, designing and implementing systems for the oil & gas industry, pipeline & highway mega projects, rail transport systems, and designing & maintaining regional 9-1-1 dispatch systems. Island Communications, with its related companies, operate out of the Cercomm Communications Centre on Bowen Rd. in Nanaimo and offer services and products for industrial and personal wireless communications. Our in-building service centre is designed to service any brand of equipment, and our install bay can accommodate vehicles as large as logging trucks, utility boom trucks and fire department vehicles. The service personnel will also come to you for industrial installs & servicing.
