Inside Out Integrated Theatre

INSIDE OUT INTEGRATED THEATRE first came into being as part of a University of Calgary Rehabilitation Studies Program. In 1996 it separated from the university and became an independent company in it's own right. Since that time it has been serving the disability community with a variety of groups. Some with the opportunity to simply explore, grow and express themselves through Developmental Drama and some with the opportunity to take the next step into performance. Up until the last two years the company has been doing a spring show every year. Today there is an ever-increasing demand by interest groups and conference and we are presenting as many as a dozen performances per year. In January 2001, we participated in Calgary's High Performance Rodeo (a mainstream theatre festival presented by the One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre Company), and in August 2001 we were invited to and performed at the KicksART Festival in Vancouver, an international event for artists with disabilities.
