Hoegy's Farm Supply Limited has been serving the rural community since 1948. Wilbur and Norma Hoegy started the business at its current location in Brodhagen, Ontario. Initially the business involved cattle, barn, and crop spraying, as well as handling some fertilizer. The original office was in Wilbur and Norma's house, which is still located in front of the business. The company continued to grow. In the late 1950's, fertilizer storage bins and a weigh scale were added. More land was required for the growing business. A large portion of the current yard was purchased during this period. The business was known as W.C. Hoegy Fertilizer. Expansion continued, and in the mid 1960's a partnership was formed with Canadian Industries Limited (C.I.L.). The business name changed to its present, Hoegy's Farm Supply Limited. A rotary fertilizer blender was added to service the growing demand for commercial fertilizer. As the partnership evolved a larger fertilizer storage building was erected in the late 1960's. With more storage came the need for a higher capacity blender with overhead storage capabilities. In the 1970's, a larger blender was added with the ability to store 40 tonnes of fertilizer overhead. In 1972, Maynard Hoegy purchased the business from his father and still owns and operates it today. The first custom application equipment for dry fertilizer, a spinner truck, was purchased during the early 1970's. The present warehouse and maintenance shop were erected in 1981...
