Doug is dedicated to providing effective legal advice to clients who are often in stressful situations. He has worked with family physicians, specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists to support the medical basis of his clients’ claims and to assist his clients in receiving the care they need from their healthcare providers. He has represented clients as lead counsel in the Provincial and Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. He has also appeared in the Federal Court of Canada and various administrative tribunals.

The Court found Mr. D liable even though the existence of the particular property and the opportunity to buy it were generally known throughout the mining industry at the time: It was not confidential or secret. Further, the Court also held that Mr. D had a duty not to take advantage of this opportunity to the detriment of the plaintiff companies and that this duty continued up to the time his new company acquired the property in August 2007. This was the case even though Mr. D had not been a director of any of the plaintiff companies for more than a year .
