Grossman's Tavern - Toronto's Home of the Blues This tavern was originally open in 1948 by the Grossman's family, it was sold in 1975 to the Louie family, and since has been lovingly maintained and nurtured. A great number of intriguing patrons from every imaginable walk of life has come and gone through these doors. Grossman's has become a legend in its own right, and has since beomce known as "Toronto's Home of the Blues" Some of our Alumni includes: The Downchild Blues Band, KId Bastien & the Happy Pals, Milton Acorn, Robert Priest, Rebecca Jenkins, Jeff Healey Band, Allannah Myles, Amanda Marshall, Burton Cummings, Philip Sayce, and scores of others... We are one of the few bars to introduce live music on Sunday nights, as well as the concept of "Jamming". We hold the city's record for having the longest surviving Sunday Night Jam, and have been doing it since November 1982, 18 years since the government allowed Sunday drinking!!! So all you aspiring musicians, bring your instruments and let's jam!!! We continue to be one of the few bars in the city to offer Live Entertainment, 7 days a week, all year long, and to set the record straight, we have been up for sale. Great patrons, talented musicians and friendly staff have become part of the family, and have, over the years, enhanced the eclectic atmosphere of Grossman's Tavern.
