Description
Clint Hutzulak was born in Ottawa, Canada in 1967 and lived for a brief time in Bogota, Colombia before moving back to Canada with his family. In 1985 he established himself in Victoria, Canada and there co-published Mental Radio, a magazine of writing and art. With Artdog Press, Clint was a founding member of the Small Press Action Network. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s he was extremely active as a curator of spoken word, sound poetry and performance art events, and produced international tours for Jaap Blonk (Netherlands), Aaron Williamson (England) and Ian Smith (Scotland). Currently he is president and artistic co-director of the Tic.Toc International Festival of New Performance, and board member of Theatre SKAM. Clint holds a BA Honours (with Distinction) in English and Creative Writing from the University of Victoria. Clint Hutzulak's fiction has been published in the anthologies Red Stains and Dust, both from Creation Books of England, and in various Canadian magazines. His critically-acclaimed novel, The Beautiful Dead End (2002), was translated into French under the title, Point mort (2005), and has been optioned for film.
