Don and Anne Green together have over 70 years experience in the education world. They have been on the front lines in many education positions from teacher, principal, superintendent to educational consultants. Their differentiation work with the Centre for Gifted Education at the University of Calgary is still ongoing today. Anne Green, B. Ed., is well knowing in education circles for creating independent learning in the classroom. This independent learning is fostered through a Community of Learners, where students have choices and make decisions. She has travelled throughout Western Canada teaching how to create a Community of Learners within the classroom; how to let the curriculum and resources support rather then lead the learning; and demonstrates how to individualize each child's education. Anne Green has been teaching for over thirty years. Passionate about children and learning, she is committed to helping students help themselves. She has published numerous articles, speaks at conferences and teaches teachers across Western Canada. In 1992, she received the William C. McMaster award for outstanding achievement in using children's literature to promote the love of reading.
