Ken is the senior partner of Gibsons LLP. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1974 and practised with a well known, established Ottawa firm for the first few years. He founded this practice in 1977 which has grown into a substantial partnership. The hallmark of Ken's practice is dedication to client service. His creative approach to problem solving has attracted both individual and corporate clients with a wide range of needs requiring innovative and focused approaches to problem solving.

Lew has extensive experience in the areas of residential and commercial real estate and real estate development as well as in the areas of Wills, Trusts and Estate and Trust management and administration. He holds seminars from time to time on Wills and Estate planning issues. Lew brings insight and experience gained through over fifteen years of practice to provide timely and knowledgable advice to our clients.

In the course of our practice of commercial law, we frequently advise and assist clients with respect to incorporations, mergers, acquisitions, commercial restructuring and corporate commercial development. We are also extensively involved with commercial financing arrangements whereby we work on behalf of both lenders and borrowers, on projects requiring working capital funding, mortgage financing and/or leasing. In addition, our commercial law team is involved with matters of personal property security and has extensively experience relating to insolvency and bankruptcy.

We work closely with development clients to assist with the successful creation and implementation of development agreements. Our municipal and planning law team has demonstrated its ability to creatively overcome roadblocks and hurdles which otherwise have the potential to undermine a sound development project. The firm also has experience in expropriations, resource development applications and other matters brought before the Ontario Municipal Board. We are in a position to draw together consultants necessary to make a first-class representation of your position in these matters.

Peggy Gibson, president of Gibson Project Planning Inc. practises in association with the firm. She brings twenty years of diversified experience from being a registered builder of residential housing, to land development, and holding a master's degree in planning. She works closely with our team of lawyers to develop strategic plans with a multi-disciplinary approach that includes consultation with government agencies, preparation of development applications supported by sound planning rationale, and coordination with other required expert consultants to achieve results for firm clients.
