The staff at Geophysics GPR International Inc. have planned and undertaken over 2,000 geophysical investigations in Canada and over 25 other countries. These projects led to the reduction of costs and delays by providing insight into the subsurface unavailable by intrusive methods.
Increasingly geophysical exploration and surveying techniques are required for: construction projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, airports, harbours etc.); locating sources of groundwater; remediation of industrial sites; determining the in-situ mechanical properties of materials; mapping subsurface geology; locating and evaluating aggregate deposits; locating underground services/utilities; mining and petroleum exploration; overseeing large-scale blasting; studying earthquake dangers; studying the bottom/sub-bottom of lakes, rivers and seas.
The aim of geophysical investigations is not to eliminate intrusive methods, but rather to accelerate exploration works and to diminish costs and unforeseen circumstances.
