INTRODUCTION Gemco Construction Ltd constructs utilities and road works for land development projects and municipal infrastructure improvements in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Gemco is owned by 11 managing and supervisory partners, all active in the daily success of the company. We have 50 - 60 employees, most on a long term, year round basis. Our owned equipment resources typically include 10 excavators, 4 dozers, and an assortment of compaction equipment and small tools. We use owner operators to supply rubber tire backhoes, dump trucks and specialty equipment requirements. Together with our people and equipment resources we have the financial resources and systems in place to handle typical project size ranges from $50,000 to $ 10 million with an annual volume of $24 million HISTORY Gemco Construction Ltd was incorporated in 1986 by 9 partners formerly employed by Goodbrand Construction Limited Growth over the years has been steady, subject to the local construction economy. Projects constructed generally include underground pipework and roadwork for both private business park and residential subdivisions as well as public infrastructure construction and reconstruction. Some specific developments include the Tsawwassen ferry terminal expansion, British Properties subdivisions, Scott Road hill, Glenlyon Business Park, Bayshore redevelopment, Dominion Ave reconstruction, Burnaby sewer separation and numerous Surrey and Langley subdivisions... Three of the original partners retired between 1994 and 2002, and 5 manager/supervisory employees joined the remaining 6 partners in 2005.
