Description

GIRO provides computer software and related consulting servicesfor specialized transportation applications, notably in the areas of transit scheduling with fixed route, paratransit and demand response solutions, and of postal collection and delivery operations.

Transit scheduling

The prize-winning HASTUS system helps schedule the mass transit systems of cities around the world: Athens, Boston, Brisbane, Brussels, Calgary, Chicago, Edinburgh, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Lyon, Montréal, Torino, Vienna, and Stockholm to name but a few.

HASTUS offers integrated solutions covering planning, operations, data analysis, and customer information.
Planning tools include advanced optimization modules to produce efficient vehicles and operators schedules. These tools can significantly reduce operating costs while reducing schedule production cycle times.

HASTUS’ daily operations modules cover crew, service, and vehicle management, and include advanced tools to manage daily events and distribute the associated information. The integration of these tools with our customer information system provides up-to-date information on all media connected to the system.
An elaborate set of data exchange tools is included in the base software to allow seamless integration with other applications.

Routing and scheduling

GIRO also offers the GeoRoute software, specifically designed to build and optimize routes for mail delivery and other postal operations. GIRO routing solutions are now installed at Canada Post, Deutsche Post in Germany, Royal Mail in the UK, La Poste in Belgium, P&T in Luxembourg, CTT Correios in Portugal, An Post in Ireland, and Norway Post.

Paratransit services
GIRO/ACCES is designed to meet the needs of larger paratransit organizations with centralized call-taking centers. It is in production in Montréal and Toronto, with up to 6,000 trips scheduled and dispatched every day.
