Our store was established in 1975 and is located in the Finnish district of Thunder Bay, Ontario just down the street from the legendary Hoito Restaurant. Diana Milton and Mona Pitkanen, purchased the business in 1997 from the founder of the store, Tarmo Pihlaja. Mona was born in Helsinki and still has many family ties in Finland. Finnish is spoken both at home and at Finnport on a daily basis. Diana, a third generation Finn, is also proud of her Finnish heritage. We love the fact that we don't have to sell our products.... they sell themselves with their timeless beauty and design. We carry many more Scandinavian products in our store that might not be shown on our website, so please contact us with any special request, we may be able to help.
