Fabmar Metals Inc. was founded in 1985 by Dave Oikonen and Dave Gooder as a metal fabrication and marine repair facility. As the business grew, the fabrication shop was expanded to accomodate the full-service machine shop and additional fabrication equipment. Since January 2001, the business has been owned and operated by four previous employees. Two of the owners, Dale Ryynanen and Wendy Wilson have been with Fabmar since the first day in operation. Sid Duke has been with the company since 1994. Over the last 19 years, Fabmar Metals Inc. has established an excellent reputation as specialists in custom fabrication and machining of mild steel and alloy materials including titanium and duplex stainless. We see a rise in the number of people we employ during the first few months of the year due to the winter lay-up of ships. The steel repair on board the ships has enabled us to diversify between the marine, pulp and paper and the sawmill industries.
