Edelweiss began operating in 1988 as a small preschool. Today, Edelweiss Preparatory School Society has grown to include: Preschool, Jr.Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4. Grade 5 and Grade 6 will be available in Sept. 2007 and Sept. 2008, respectively. Where did the name "Edelweiss" come from? Well, "edelweiss" is a small white flower that grows high in the Alps and it is said that if a man really loves a woman, he will go higher up the mountain to get the edelweiss flower - going the "extra mile" for love. That's part of our philosophy at Edelweiss - to go the "extra mile" for the love of all the children. Although Edelweiss has no religious or other affiliations, we strive to teach values, such as honesty and kindness, that are common to world religions. Edelweiss is open to students of all religions and ethnic backgrounds.
