What would we do without Energy? Can you imagine a world with no lights, no TV, no fridge or freezer, no radio, no medical devices, no washing machine, no heat..... Whether you can or cannot I think we would all agree that we don't want to have to imagine our lives without at least one of these, if not all. Energy is absolutely critical to so many areas of our lives, our careers and the activities of people around the world in general. So it is easy for us to see the importance of energy in our everyday lives. But, do we really understand the impact of how energy is produced, the effect different approaches have on our environment and new solutions and technologies that have great potential without the negative impacts on our environment? This section of the ECOShift website focuses on information related to some of the alternate environmentally friendly technologies for power generation such as Solar, Wind, Geothermal etc. They aren't necessarily new, and many have been in use for a very long time, but they are definitely being evaluated and used on a much larger scale today than ever before as we realize the environmental benefits they have over some of the dirtier and much less friendly approaches like Coal fired generation.
