Our state-of-the-art facility utilizes the most advanced technology in cryogenic (freezing) preservation. We use the BioArchive system (www.thermogenesis.com), which uses a robotic arm to deposit and remove each cord blood sample in its own unique location. Unlike, the tanks used at at most other cord blood banks, where racks of samples are lifted in and out of the tank on numerous occasions to place new samples inside, your sample is never exposed to temperature variations, which can could lower the number of viable cells by causing cell death. Recent studies have shown that it is the best system for preserving samples at the optimum temperature at all times. For these reasons, this system is considered by many experts in this field to be the gold standard for preservation of cord blood.
