Much has changed in the office equipment industry since Corbett Office Equipment Ltd. opened its doors forty years ago in Vernon. Today?s demanding business expects a company to find the perfect balance between quality, service and fair pricing. In order to evolve with today?s standards, Corbett Office Plus has committed itself to customer service as its foremost priority. In the case of Corbett Office Plus, this means customer convenience in every aspect. In the early 1960?s Ron Corbett and Tom Barton opened Corbett Agencies in Vernon British Columbia and would provide the Okanagan with a variety of services including the printing of forms and the importing of items such as cuckoo clocks and rubber boots. Together they expanded into Office Supplies, Equipment and Furniture and on April 28, 1965 they incorporated under the name of Barton and Corbett Office Equipment Ltd. The business continued to grow and in August of 1970 Ron and his wife Phyl would become the sole owners and change the name to Corbett Office Equipment Ltd. In July of 1973 Lawrie Nelson would become a shareholder and join the company as it?s first Sales Manager and in December of that year the business would move to its current location. The Kelowna office was opened in 1974 and the company would grow to employ 25 people. Lawrie Nelson would retire in December 1990 and Wilf Montgomery would purchase Lawrie?s shares and join the company...
