An unexpected expense was the office move made necessary by the College of Dental Hygienists of BC’s decision last summer to move and no longer share space. The College and its registrants benefitted from cost savings for over 12 years. The new office space is located outside the downtown core which reduces costs, provides free parking, and improves the space for both in-house and online meetings. With no costs for the leasehold renovations, the College was able to further reduce the moving expenses.

The scores on the Continuing Competence Exam are confidential and obtained for the sole purpose of confirming the occupational therapist is competent to provide safe, ethical and effective care. The Health Professions Act provides for the College to maintain confidential records or information that an occupational therapist provides to the College under the Quality Assurance Program. In our case, this is the Continuing Competence Program.

Trudy Hubbard Trudy Hubbard is Executive Director of North Shore Volunteers for Seniors. She is the past President of Possibility Thinking Consultants specializing in non-profit development and management. She developed the BC Centre for Non-Profit Development and has twenty years experience in the Public Service as a regulator manager in the Audit Division, Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. Trudy's high ethical standards and integrity, flexibility, fairness and strong reasoning skills serve her well with employees and clients.

With close to 20 years of experience in clinical settings including acute care, community, residential, mental health and private practice, Darlene brings a wide practice lens to the Board. She is currently a professional practice leader for the Interior Health authority having worked in management for over four years. Darlene graduated from the University of Alberta in 1991 and obtained her Master of Rehabilitation Science from the University of British Columbia in 2009.

If unsuccessful after two attempts, the College assists the occupational therapists to improve their competence by working with them to develop a customized and confidential plan.
