Centre 507 offers a safe and supportive environment where individuals can access a variety of free programs and services. These services include: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Health services As a partner agency of the City of Ottawa SITE program, Centre 507 offers a needle exchange and crack pipe service, along with rehabilitation advice and referrals. Outreach workers from the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Royal Ottawa Hospital, SITE, Centretown Community Health Centre and Housing Help visit the drop-in regularly to connect with individuals in an environment in which they already feel safe. We also work with some of these agencies to provide on site flu shot clinics, foot care clinics, and testing for HIV, TB or hepatitis. Life Management Skills Program Life skills include the ability to recognize and understand problems and their consequences and develop ways to deal with them. Learning life skills helps participants contribute to their community. It builds self esteem and a desire to reach for a brighter future. The Life Management Skills Program includes: - - - - - 507 Job Bank - - - - - Read about a Life Management Skills Graduate Street outreach services Centre 507 is funded through Provincial Homelessness Initiatives Funding to provide street outreach services that reach out to people living on the streets in absolute poverty or to those who cannot or do not visit Centre 507. Recreation services Our recreation program allows participants to take part in creative social events such as card games, movies, picnics, trips and outings. Many participants face severe loneliness and isolation, in addition to financial limitations not allowing them to afford such events. These events are supplemented by our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. The recreation activities give participants a chance to find and enjoy the company of friends.
