The Greenwood Flight Centre, formally known as the Greenwood Flying Club, has been operating since 1958, and teaching people how to fly for over 45 years. When the “Flying Club” first started it was a non-profit organization composed of serving R.C.A.F. personnel that already had their private licence and interested in flying only for recreation and pleasure. Later in 1959, flight training started for both military personnel and local civilians from all areas of the valley who were interested in getting a civilian pilot’s licence.

Canada is also home to CAE, the largest Full Flight Simulator company in the world and a world leader in flight training. Canada is also home to Bombardier, the manufacturer of the CRJ line of regional passenger jets and the Q Series of turbo prop aircraft that include the highly successful Dash 8.

It will be the students responsibility to apply to their own country’s Civil Aviation Authority for the conversion of a Canadian Licence back to a valid license in their home country. We provide all the required Canadian documentation and will help with the process when possible and as appropriate.

By far the most popular sightseeing flight offered by the Greenwood Flight Centre is a trip to your house. You provide the directions; we provide a view only the birds can enjoy.
