To the many individuals and organizations that provided their time and wisdom to create this document, we thank you. These standards are dedicated to all the committed people who care passionately about the quality of services provided to vulnerable children, youth and families. This manual and the standards are the product of many people and many years work. It started with the standards, created by the agencies and Alberta Association of Services for Children and Families in the eighties. The early partnership with Alberta Family and Social Services and then the Ministry of Children's Services was invaluable for both the financial support that allowed the program to grow and the input into their work. The agencies provided staff to assist in the development, review and implementation of standards over many years. The staff and Board of Directors of the Alberta Association of Services for Children and Families demonstrated their commitment to the idea and process of accreditation repeatedly. Without all of this help over many years, we could not have come to the place we are at today. There is no way to identify all the people who provided assistance on this project. If we try, it is inevitable that we will forget a few. People have been incredibly generous with their time and wisdom.
