Description

Established in 1975, C&C Wood Products began as a partnership with the intent of manufacturing high quality kitchen cabinets, joinery products and assorted interior home construction products. Soon after our incorporation in 1977 however, it became clear that there existed a large demand for decorative wall paneling in the North American market that was not being satisfied. We had discovered our opportunity. Located in the central interior of British Columbia, a region with an abundant supply of high quality timber, we initially established our operation by remanufacturing construction grade pine boards purchased from locally operating sawmills. While there was a large supply of this raw material available, we discovered that the moisture rich (green) boards used in home building were not suitable for the production of a consistent paneling product. In order to overcome this difficulty, we constructed our first dry kiln in 1978 adjacent to our remanufacturing facilities. Finally we were able to dry the boards to appropriate levels before they were processed into paneling. Once our dry kiln was fully operational, the consistency of our paneling increased as did our reputation as a supplier of quality wood products. Our customers' appreciation was immediately apparent as we saw a marked increased the demand for our paneling but at the same time this made obvious a new and pressing issue...
