What makes Between the Lines different?

Many of our readers have told us that they look to BTL for challenging ideas, concepts, and analysis not readily found in the mainstream. At BTL we strive to embrace critical perspectives on culture, economics, and society. Our timely and evocative books acknowledge the complexity of living in the 21st century.
Who writes for Between the Lines?

BTL books are written by some of Canada's leading political and cultural thinkers. In every case their work has been meticulously researched, edited with great care, and written in a style accessible to a broad range of readers. Our authors want to be read. Read by college and university students and by the public who might first discover their work in a local bookstore.
What does Between the Lines stand for in Canadian publishing?

Some call us left-wing, feminist, queer positive, and anti-racist. We like that. One time somebody also called us a "tenacious publisher." We'll stick with that too.
