The BCITMA is a non-profit, student-run organization that exists to add value to the experience of Marketing and Business students through professional development and career-oriented training. The BCITMA is the largest organization of its kind in Canada, with over 100 active members. As a Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association, the BCITMA attends the annual AMA Collegiate Conference and consistently places among the top Chapters among 300+ American Universities and Colleges. In April 2005, the BCITMA came out as the biggest winner during the competition by winning first place rankings, and more, in every event that we competed in. This tremendous accomplishment has further highlighted the skill and ability of our members. We fulfill our mandate in several ways. We hold networking minglers to bring students and industry together in a casual environment where they can dialogue about career prospects and build contacts within the professional environment. Our Speaker Series events keep students current on new developments and opportunities in the field of marketing, while our social events act as a venue for students to build connections in their personal lives. We also engage in numerous marketing-related projects throughout the year, including an extensive community service venture in which we create a marketing plan for a local non-profit organization.
