Description

BKL Consultants Ltd. is an independent acoustical consulting firm that has worked exclusively in the field of acoustical engineering since 1966. The firm is based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and serves clients throughout Canada and the world. We provide a wide range of acoustical, environmental noise, and noise and vibration control design services. The firm has no affiliation with any product manufacturer or sales organization.

Control of airborne and structure-borne noise and vibration is a critical component of successful building design. We prefer to provide input during the mechanical system and building services design stage to ensure that the noise and vibration control measures are in place on opening day. Where we are not involved during the design stage, we are often asked to provide the design of corrective measures to eliminate noise problems that are discovered once the building is in operation.

Over the past 48 years we have worked to maintain our position as the premier acoustical consulting firm in Western Canada. Continually achieving this goal is only possible through the hard work, dedication, and passion of our team. As we continue to grow our company to support our clients, we are pleased to announce our newest team member: Katrina Scherebnyj, and we think that you will find her qualifications most impressive.

We have also conducted assessments of bridge and overpass construction, truck and rail cargo terminals, automobile and go-kart racing facilities, shooting range construction and use, entertainment facilities, major construction projects such as hospitals, helicopter ambulance landing pad construction and major industrial plant construction, including pulp and paper mills, saw mills, and refineries. We have the personnel and equipment to handle large scale projects which may involve simultaneous monitoring of noise levels at several sites over a period of many weeks.

We provide ongoing input as the design development proceeds, refining details as the overall design takes shape. Balancing the acoustical treatment and finish budgets can take place at this time. We will also be working on the initial analysis of mechanical system noise and vibration once the HVAC design is at least 50% complete. This reduces the redundant work for ourselves and the mechanical consultant (and in some cases the structural consultant).
