At AltaGas Utilities, safety is a top priority and we provide rigorous safety training. We provide FREE 24-hour standby emergency service for all of our customers every day of the year. Our emergency response personnel are available to respond to gas leaks 24 hours per day at 1-866-222-2068 .

The AltaGas Utilities Inc. Natural Gas Utility Service Rules (the "Rules") are the rules that govern how we (AltaGas Utilities) serve our customers. The Rules also govern how our customers take service from us. The Rules are a part of every service agreement and are subject to the authority of the Alberta Utilities Commission who regulates AltaGas Utilities. The Rules cannot be changed without the Alberta Utilities Commission's approval and the Rules are legally binding on AltaGas Utilities and our customers.

In Decision 2013-465, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) approved 2014 Interim Rates for all distribution service customers effective January 1, 2014. The interim rate change ensures AUI's compliance with the AUC's Performance Based Regulation and allows AUI to recover increasing costs of providing gas distribution service. For an average residence using 117 GJ annually, this equates to an increase of approximately $33 per year.

The Fixed Distribution (Base) Charge is a daily fee to recover a portion of the cost of providing you gas distribution service regardless of the amount of energy used. This includes the cost of building, operating, and maintaining the system.
