Description

AltaGas' customers range from more than 250 natural gas producers to national hotel chains and retailers, hospitals, major office buildings and other institutions. By positioning ourselves strategically along the energy value chain, we link the energy producer to the energy end-user. We have created an integrated suite of businesses that work together to serve the growing North American demand for natural gas and power.

We employ a staff of approximately 200 energetic and capable individuals across the Province. As professionals and experts in our line of work, we are dedicated to giving our customers the highest achievable degree of value by offering quality service in a way that sets the standard for customer service in our markets.

AltaGas has an in-house engineering team that delivers industry-leading construction capability, led by experienced project managers. We deliver projects on time and on budget. The completion of the Henderson Pipeline, which allowed our customers to get gas to market earlier than planned, was an example of these capabilities. The Gas business delivers services under a variety of commercial structures which provide flexibility to our customers, maximizing customer netbacks and meeting AltaGas' desired investment returns.

It is estimated that trillions of cubic feet of natural gas exist in the Montney Shale gas play located in northwestern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia. There is a growing need for gas processing capacity and pipelines as drilling activity increases in the area. AltaGas plans to meet this need by delivering gas processing and natural gas liquids extraction services to our customers.

ENSTAR was founded in 1961, making it one of the oldest energy companies operating in Alaska. It serves over 136,000 customers in Anchorage and the Cook Inlet area with natural gas transmission, storage and distribution systems. ENSTAR headquarters are located in Anchorage, with additional offices in Soldotna and Wasilla. The history of ENSTAR is closely aligned with the history of Alaska since statehood. Over those years, ENSTAR has grown with the 49th state, supplying the energy which has helped communities grow and prosper, thereby improving the quality of life in South-central Alaska.
