Description

The worldwide mission of Civitan International is: To build good citizenship by providing a volunteer organization of clubs dedicated to serving individual and community needs with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.

The Civitan International Foundation of Canada is a non-profit corporation which seeks to encourage and recognize good citizenship; to develop understanding of basic human freedoms; to provide Bursaries in higher education; to support work in health related fields with special emphasis on aid to the mentally, physically, and developmentally challenged.

Serving the community of Almonte since 1972, the Almonte Civitan Club is dedicated to improving the Mississippi Mills area by helping others. Our members are involved in a variety of service projects to help the community. With our variety of fund-raising projects, we are able to contribute monetary donations to those individuals, groups, events and projects requiring help. We also have many members serving on committees and boards of other organizations providing experience, knowledge and assistance as required.

We provide the opportunities to aid others in our community while maintaining the values of Civitan: Fellowship, Service, and Knowledge.
