Zum Waldhaus (at the forest house) is located on the north-east shore of Upper Cardiff Lake Road, one third of a mile off Hwy.
648, one mile west of Harcourt. We offer self-contained two and three bedroom cottages, suites in the main house and Bed &
Breakfast. The view from the cottages and the main house is to
Crown land across the lake to the south and to the east and west; and north is the natural forest setting with marked ECO trails to
Farquhar Lake, also accessible by car (or bike) on private road over Harcourt. Each cottage has a private beach area with boat and dock, picnic table, lawn chairs, fire pit; fully equipped kitchen, three-piece bathroom, fireplace in the living room, etc., electric and/or propane heat. There is a playground for children, badminton & volleyball net, horse shoes, croquet on site. Tennis courts are nearby in Wilberforce, as is shopping for groceries, etc. There are golf courses nearby and in
Bancroft and Haliburton; also restaurants. A private suite is in the main house accessible by the double front door and includes all of the above. Rooms for B&B are available by private entrance by the side drive to the rear of the house. A four-piece bathroom and a washroom, a kitchen and a living room with fireplace, satellite TV are also available here; the rooms with queen-sized, double and single beds. Breakfast is on the main floor with a view to the lake. Trails, sports facilities, row boats, BBQ available to all guests at no extra cost; canoes, paddle boats and motor boats may be rented. We are alongside main snowmobile routes; and skating, skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing are some other winter sports. Maple syrup in the spring.
