Description

Since 1981, Zonas has been a Santa Fund location, working in co-operation with the Newmarket Lions Club to supply food vouchers to those in need at Christmas. Supporting school fundraising is another important outreach for our company whether for a silent auction, Jump Rope for Heart or school bazaar/fun fairs. Zonas, a founding member, continues to support The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. Karen, Zona's daughter, is a long time resident of Newmarket. Known for her work with Lions Clubs International, locally Karen organizes one of the largest Music Festivals in Ontario. Karen holds the "The Melvin Jones Fellowship", named for founder of Lions International, the highest recognition of Lions Clubs. A founding Director of the Community Alliance For York Region "CAYRE", Karen supports the many aspects of this Board including "Put the Brakes on Bullying". Michael, Karen's son, has also grown up in the business and this perhaps influenced his decision to study business at Seneca College. After starting his working life in the computer industry, Mike has decided to join the family business with the opening of our second location in Barrie. Mike, a Past President of the Newmarket Lions Club, is active in both the Newmarket and Barrie communities.
