1 - WindShare AGM Tuesday March 10, 2009 Walmer Road Baptist Church (Location: http://walmer.ca/Pages/AboutUs/Directions.html ) 7:00pm Join us for our Fiscal 2008 AGM Learn how your board has been working towards new developments and improving turbine performance. Also hear about how we can get a new “Green Energy Act. ” To make this a successful event we need volunteers to help make it all happen. For more information on volunteering contact Dave Bedard ( david.a.bedard@sympatico.ca ) or Richard Lawrence ( Rich@trec.on.ca ). More information to come. 2- Board Elections Once again we will have elections for board members at our upcoming AGM. The next couple of years will be very exciting for our board as we move towards more wind turbine developments. Contributing to the board can be a very rewarding and enriching experience. For more information on becoming a board member and standing for election at the upcoming AGM please contact Stewart Russell ( scruss@scruss.com ). 3 - December Production best ever! After some challenging technical times in recent years we are proud to announce that the month of December 2008 broke all of our previous production and revenue records. The turbine produced 172,323 kwh- greater than any month since the turbine started spinning in 2003. This was a result of a significant amount of work to improve availability of the turbine and of course some very good wind. We look forward to continued high turbine availability in the future ('availability' refers to the turbine being ready to convert wind into energy at a given point in time. It is the most significant parameter that we can influence. However, availability can only be converted into energy when the wind is blowing.) 4 - From one Dave to Another - Outgoing and incoming Treasurer After years of dedication to the financials at WindShare, Dave Robertson has stepped down as our Treasurer. Dave has been involved with WindShare since its inception and has put a remarkable amount of work into the books for us over the years. He also was very active in the Lakewind Project, developing our recent feasibility study on building more turbines at ExPlace and will continue his work on the TREC board. While he will be missed, what he doesn't realize is that we know where to find him. As one Dave leaves us another arrives - WindShare member Dave Bedard C.A. has joined the WindShare board as of October 3rd 2008 and has assumed the position of treasurer. Both Dave's worked through a transition of the books and the year end financials for our fiscal 2008. Dave (Bedard that is) will be presenting our year end financials at the AGM this year.
