Description

In 1902 a grant was obtained from Scottish-American philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, to build a new library in Waterloo. On November 4, 1905 the Carnegie Free Public Library opened its doors. The Library's popularity grew rapidly and soon a Children's Department and children's programs were developed.
