Steve Chapman has been a Calgary entrepreneur and businessman since leaving the Calgary Police Service in 1989 after 10 years of service. As a police officer he patrolled Forest Lawn and the Inner city. He also worked in the traffic section dealing with injury and fatal traffic crashes as well as revamping the CheckStop program and the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program for increased effectiveness His innovative work in enforcement strategies earned him a Masters degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary. Several of his research projects have been published in a variety of international scientific journals.
