In fact, we were one of the very first eye centres in Western Canada to introduce technologies such as suture-less cataract surgery, foldable lens implants, bifocal lifestyle lenses and micro-incision cataract surgery and torsional phacoemulsification to our patients. We can even offer you cataract surgey on both eyes at the same time, to minimize time from work or other activites.

At VLEC, we have been performing LASIK for over 15 years, with tens of thousands of succesful procedures. In fact, we were one of the very first eye centres in Western Canada to offer LASIK to our patients. But we did not stop at just one LASIK procedure. We were then the first laser eye centre in British Columbia to offer iLASIK, the ultimate laser eye procedure featuring advanced femtosecond(iFS) technology with customVue wavefront guided Visx S4 treatments.

Unlike the LASIK procedure, which alters the shape of the cornea, refractive lensectomy changes the focusing power of the lens with the eye. The refractive lensectomy procedure consists of removing the eye’s natural lens and replacing it with a lens implant selected to provide clear focusing ability, much like in the modern cataract procedure.
